IE Pays Tribute to Partnership with JARC

See end of article for photo captions.

On Wednesday evening, February 13, Israel Elwyn hosted a groundbreaking and successful event at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, celebrating IE’s long partnership with the Jewish Association for Residential Care (JARC), and recognizing Ronald L. Siegel, Esq., Evelyn H. Solomon, and JARC Executive Director Debra C. Hallow, Ph.D. Each of these esteemed JARC leaders helped so many people with disabilities empower themselves and improve their quality of life.

Ron Siegel, a partner with the law firm of Brinkley Morgan and the President of JARC’s Board, is a long-time friend of Israel Elwyn. Ron played a key role in bringing Israel Elwyn and JARC together many years ago.

Evelyn Solomon, a current JARC board member and former IE Board member, has personal connections to Israel Elwyn's ground breaking work, as her brother Ronald z'l participated in IE’s multi-faceted day programs for more than 16 years.  Evelyn was part of an IE leadership delegation that included visits to IE programs in east and west Jerusalem and Haifa.

Dr. Debra Hallow has been the Executive Director of JARC for 19 years. Prior to that, she was the Director of Education and Training at the Walter E. Fernald State School in Waltham, Massachusetts and an instructor of developmental disabilities at Middlesex Community College in Bedford, Massachusetts.

The event feted Israel Elwyn’s relationship with JARC, marking nearly a decade of fruitful partnership. IE and JARC have worked together over the years in the realms of professional cooperation and even an exchange of residents of supported living services, in which Israel Elwyn residents spent time in Boca Raton (including of course Disney World!) and JARC residents visited Israel.

We look forward to many more years of partnership, cooperation and success.
