Israel Elwyn Shares Inclusive Employment Knowledge

July 2018

In May, Nora Guerchunoff, Director of Israel Elwyn’s Jerusalem & Southern Israel Branch, lectured to 400 professionals at a conference on the training and inclusion of people with disability in the labor market, in Cordoba, Argentina.  During her six hour lecture, Nora spoke about Israel Elwyn (IE) programs, including a continuum of employment programs ranging from training in training centers and in the community, to social enterprises and supported employment in the competitive job market.  She also reviewed trends in the employment field, which is changing due to the development of technology.  Following the lecture, Nora answered questions for two hours on services for people with intellectual and other disabilities for a group of 50 special education inspectors and professionals.

During the visit, IE and the Provincial University of Cordoba signed a cooperation agreement.

Each year, hundreds of Israelis with disability undergo training and about 1,500 find employment in the community through IE’s Supported Employment programs as individuals and in groups, with supports from IE professionals
