Elwyn El Quds

Elwyn El Quds provides a continuum of services for individuals with disabilities from birth throughout their lives, as needed.

The Early Intervention Center is for infants and toddlers (six months to three years of age) with severe developmental disabilities who receive the entire range of physical, occupational and speech therapy treatments in accordance with the Early Intervention Law.

The Inclusive Children's Day Care Program serves infants and toddlers (birth to three years of age) who are developmentally at risk, together with children who do not have disabilities from the same community. The main aim is to support the children in achieving healthier develoment that will enable them to be included in regular schools.

The Special Education School is for children between the ages of three and twenty-one with severe physical and developmental disabilities.

The Work/Study Program serves individuals between the ages of 17-21 with mild to moderate developmental disabilities referred from other Special Education schools. The emphasis is on preparation for everyday living and the acquisition of basic work skills.

The Occupational Training Center is geared for adults above the age of 21 with mild to moderate developmental disabilities. The focus is on attaining work skills and improving social skills that will help the participants advance into the Supported Employment Program.

Supported Employment gives individuals the opportunity to work in the community in positions for which they have been trained. They also learn how to handle normal work demands for production quality and quantity.

The Food Services Social Enterprise prepares and delivers 500 hot meals to special education schools and to elderly persons residing within the walls of the Old City. Twelve persons from the Occupational Training Center assist with cooking and delivering the meals.

The Industrial Laundry Social Enterprise serves restaurants and hotels in the area. The work is done by individuals from our Occupational Training Center along with adults who have been referred by the National Insurance Institute for evaluation and short term training.

The Adult Therapeutic Program is for adults over 21 who have severe developmental and physical disabilities. The aim of the program is to enhance their quality of life by helping them maintain and improve their skills in activities of daily living.

The Seniors Program is for adults who are former workers (either in Elwyn El Quds' Occupational Training Center or in a supported job) who have expressed the desire to cut back on their day-to-day work activities. All are over the age of 45 and have shown functional regression. The rehabilitation program enables each senior to discover new qualities within his or her self and to develop abilities and fields of interest. The Center's activities are chosen together with the seniors, each of whom chooses in which activities to participate.
