Jon B. Singer, z''l

On May 14, 2015 Israel Elwyn and the American Friends of Israel Elwyn presented a framed lithograph by the well-known artist and Hebrew calligrapher Mordechai Rosenstein to IE Board member, Ina Singer, in memory of her husband and fellow IE Board member Jon B. Singer, z’’l.

In presenting the memorial gift, IE’s Chairman Emeritus, Frank Riesenburger, recounted that “Ina and Jon have been with us as a loyal and supportive couple for 20 years.”  In accepting the gift, Ina commented, “Jon loved Israel Elwyn … [and had a] deep commitment to Jewish causes to help those in need and to help Israel…”

Ina and Jon provided generous support over the years including introducing Israel Elwyn to the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation.  Jon founded and led numerous efforts to improve the lives of individuals in need and was well-known for his steadfast belief in the value of every person. Ina shared that “Jon lived the Jewish principle of tikkun olam – repair of the world – and his efforts to raise funds and help develop Israel Elwyn say it all.”
