Board Chairperson Stuart Rudoler, Esq. Awards Gift to Outgoing Chariperson, Franklin J. Riesenburger, Esq.

During the May Board meeting of Israel Elwyn (IE) in Philadelphia, incoming Board Chairperson, Stuart Rudoler, Esq., awarded a gift to his predecessor, Franklin (Frank) J. Riesenburger, Esq.  Riesenburger served a successful four-year term at the helm of the IE Board that included many highlights, among them:

1. First-of-its-kind Retiree Center for seniors with disabilities in Jerusalem;

2. National Self-Advocacy Training;

3. Expanded Transitions programs for teenagers completing high school in both the regular and special education systems;

4. A unique initiative to provide work at home for adults with disabilities who, through establishment of a trusting relationship with IE professionals in their home, are persuaded to participate in employment training programs; and

5. Increased success for children with disabilities in inclusive education through intensive therapies and the introduction of assistive technology.

Frank Riesenburger has been a member of Israel Elwyn's Board of Directors since 1997, and has visited Israel Elwyn many times during frequent trips to Israel with his wife, Dalia.  An active leader in his community, Frank has been involved in organizations advancing the care and needs of people with developmental disabilities for the past 30 years.  A former adjunct professor of environmental law at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Frank writes and lectures frequently on topics involving environmental litigationand regulation.  He received his J.D. in 1971 from the University of Chicago, and is a 1968 cum laude graduate of American University, the school of international service. 

Stuart Rudoler has served on the Board of Israel Elwyn for the past ten years, during which time he has held the position of Vice Chairman for Board Development.  Stuart is past president of Lower Merion Synagogue and has held volunteer leadership positions at Perelman Jewish Day School and Hillel of Greater Philadelphia.  He is Director of Business Development at American Flux & Metal, a specialty metal manufacturer, as well as a founding partner of Rudoler & DeRosa LLC.  Stuart received his B.S.E. from the University of Pennsylvania and his M.S.E. from Drexel University.  He received his J.D., with highest honors, from Rutgers University School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of The Rutgers Law Journal.  Stuart and wife Shari, a physician, live in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania where they attend Lower Merion Synagogue.  They have three children, Jeremy, Joey and Helen, one of whom attends the University of Pennsylvania and the other two who attend Barrack Hebrew Academy.

The gift presented to Riesenburger was a framed painting by Rachel Lazar, an artist with disabilities who lives in Israel Elwyn’s Supported Living Program in Jerusalem.
